19 Year Old Facing Numerous Charges

(PUSLINCH TWP, ON) The Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stop a drive twice for the same offences, after the driver failed to adhere to instruction from the first traffic stop, resulting in a total of 14 charges.
On April 21, 2025, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the West-Region TIME Team (Traffic Incident Management Enforcement), were conducting proactive traffic enforcement and initiated a traffic stop on a commercial motor vehicle (CMV) on Highway 401, leading to the 401 Service Centre within Puslinch Township.
As a result of the investigation, a 19-year-old from Acton is charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
Operate commercial motor vehicle with load not secured as prescribed
Fail to surrender completed daily inspection report
Operate vehicle fail to display inspection sticker or proof
Defective braking system commercial motor vehicle
The accused was also given the following warnings:
Improper tires drawn vehicle commercial motor vehicle
Drive commercial motor vehicle with a major defect in it or in drawn vehicle
The accused was given instruction not to transport the trailer in its current state due to safety concerns.
Shortly thereafter, the accused was again observed back on the roadway by Wellington OPP Traffic Management Unit and a traffic stop was initiated on Townline Road within Puslinch Township.
As a result of the subsequent investigation, the 19-year-old from Action was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with:
Drive commercial motor vehicle contrary to prohibition
Draw trailer, no plate
Operate vehicle fail to display inspection sticker or proof
Operate commercial motor vehicle with load not secured as prescribed
Improper tires drawn vehicle commercial motor vehicle
Improper brakes on trailer commercial motor vehicle
Fail to enter defect in daily inspection report
Fail to surrender inspection schedule
Fail to surrender completed daily inspection report
Drive commercial motor vehicle with a major defect in it or in drawn vehicle
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Provincial Offences court Guelph at a later date.
Commercial motor vehicle (CMV) collisions carry unique risks. When combined with speeds ranging from 80 to 105 km/h, these vehicles generate significant momentum and energy, giving them the potential to cause extensive loss of life, injuries and property damage.
